Pest Control may not be considered a glamorous industry, but it is an industry full of committed people, who truly understand that they are making a positive difference in many people’s lives. These people are often viewed as a “hero” in the eyes of those in the midst of a severe infestation.
We recently spoke with Luke Linde of ITC Pest Control to find out more about this family owned business that has its routes deeply anchored in the West Coast.
ITC Pest Control is a family-owned business, how do family values contribute to the success of your business?
We owe our success to our dad, Tertius. One of the many business lessons Dale, Jessica and I came to learn through our dad’s example, is to genuinely care about and understand people. We feel that this is where our success has come from. Having our staff and clients know that we care about them because we genuinely do.
When did the company start and how has the company changed since opening its doors?
Our dad has been in the industry for more than 30 years. ITC Pest Control opened for business in October of 2008. Back then, we started with one vehicle, two employees and operated out of a small one room office. Now, almost 15 years later, we have nine dedicated vehicles on the road, more than twenty employees and two branch locations.
And while there have been many changes over the years, there is one thing that we will never change – giving our clients the highest standard of service.
Why choose ITC Pest Control?
We are a family run business with the resources and expertise to cater to the residential, commercial and industrial markets on the West Coast and Boland areas.
We offer many specialized pest management services that are needed in the retail, corporate, healthcare, construction and food production business sectors. Long gone are the days of having to outsource a company from Cape Town (or even further). These specialized services are available from us, a local service provider.
Are your pest control treatments safe for people and pets?
Yes, our services are safe for people, their family and their pets. We have the expertise, qualifications, equipment, safety gear and industry leading products to care for all types of pest management situations. So, when you need a pest control treatment done, using a professional company like us, is the way to go.
How does your business give back to your community?
We appreciate the hard work that the local schools and NGO`s do. At several of these local facilities, we donate or provide our services at cost price, so that they can continue to do their work in a pest free environment.
One such project that we are currently working on (along with a few other local companies) is to provide new multi-purpose sport courts to Diazville Primary School.
